Thoughts from Ms. Dixon

 

Can you believe we are already beginning the month of February???

This school year is going so well, that it is “flying by”!

 

We have quite a busy few months ahead of us, as we really begin our testing season.  Thank you to those of you who came out on January 29 for the TAKS Parent Night.  We had some GREAT information and some WONDERFUL spaghetti to enjoy!  Thank you PTA for helping with that event! 

 

As you know, March 5 will be our first TAKS test for the school year.  Third and fifth grades will take the first administration of the Reading test, and fourth grade will take the Writing test.  The students and teachers have been working very hard and I know we will see great results when our scores come back!  Then, we will continue testing in April with the administrations of the Math and Science tests, along with fourth grade Reading.  Help us encourage your child by reminding them of how well they are doing in class.  Teachers are sending some wonderful items home to practice with, so please be sure to help them get these items completed and returned to school.

 

We have also begun our after-school tutorials.  All grade levels are having tutoring sessions for students who need that little extra push to help them be successful in their current grade.  I am seeing great things in our tutorial classes!  Thank you teachers!
