Meet Mrs. Nora Ibarra
By Anthony Luu
Mrs. Nora Ibarra is a new math teacher at NSMS. Even though she hasn’t taught in NSMS before, she has the potential to be a successful Math/Algebra teacher. Earning here degree in the University of Houston: Clear Lake, she decided to teach students close to where she went to school. “I’m teaching at NSMS because I can relate to most of the students, so I know about what they need help in, which helps me be a more helpful teacher.” She chose to teach math because it was her favorite subjects in school. Her character is varied, not just in school, but also out of school. She loves to read and bond with her 2 year-old son. Her favorite color is black, but that does not describe her attitude, she is a happy, cheerful and sometimes a strict teacher. “My high school science teacher inspired me to go to school, because he showed me all the things that students needed, and without a proper education, many students would just be left behind, and not become a helpful and needed member of society,” said Mrs. Ibarra. Ibarra said that it is great to be able to help other children that had a similar childhood as her.
