Student Council help students get fresh start

By Janice Wright

Ten hours of standing in the summer heat outside of Wal-Mart can be a daunting task. However, it’s a no brainier for StuCo members. As part of the I love North Shore Campaign, Student Council Members collected school supplies at Wal-Mart on Wallisville Saturday, August 4, 2007.  Members held signs and handed out flyers requesting customers to purchase school supplies and donate items in the StuCo baskets outside of the store.  Members collected hundred of items that included colors, notebooks, backpacks, facial tissue and batteries which aided 100 students in the Galena Park and Houston Independent School Districts.

Students and parents requested assistance during the Project Cloverleaf Health Fair on July 28, 2007 at Woodforest Baptist Church. Student Council members also volunteered during the health fair. School supplies were distributed to students on Monday, August 24 at Woodforest Baptist Church.
