Mustangs Make a Difference during Make a Difference Week

North Shore Middle School Make a Difference Week was held on October 23-27. Students participated in a whole week of daily activities. The Math Department conducted a food drive for the community and students donated can goods. The Life Skills classes of NSMS and Havard Elementary made pillows for Texas Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, October 24. Harvard also teamed up with NSMS and conducted a toy drive for the Salvation Army. Serve Another Day was on Wednesday, October 25. The Assistant Principals gave out free dress day passes to students who were helping others. “There was a lot of helping going on that week,” said student Tia Blackshur. Continuing Service Day was on Thursday, October 26. Representatives from Boy and Girl Scouts and 4-H distributed information to students during lunch. On October 26, NSMS held a costume contest during lunch and gave away prizes. The purpose of  Make a Difference Week was to encourage service and participation in Make a Difference Day which was held on Saturday, October 28, 2006. Making a difference at NSMS is the mustang way.
