Snow Day

Every January it snows at Cimarron Elementary!! How can this be in the hot climate of Houston? We have it delivered especially for students with E's in conduct. That's right, all students who have an E in conduct for the second nine weeks of school get to play in the snow. This has been a favorite Cimarron tradition for 6 years now and we hope to keep it going.

Multicultural Fair

Every year Cimarron participates in the North Channel Multicultural Fair. Cimarron's countries have included Italy, Canada, and Germany. Everyone pitches in to do a wonderful job decorating the booth and coming up with fun learning activities. We definitely show our Cimarron spirit!

Freedom Week

A new tradition at Cimarron is Freedom Week. We were so moved by the events of September 11th that we knew we needed to show our pride in the USA. Each day of the week we wear  red, white or blue--we even have a stars and stripes day! We have fun singing patriotic songs every morning and have a moment of silence to remember our heroes.

Read A Rama, Wear Your Pajamas!

Yes, you heard right! Even the teachers and the principals dress up in their pajamas on this special day! You should see some of the funny house shoes we see. We read books all day and cozy up with some hot chocolate and our pillows and blankets! What a wonderful way to go to work and school.

Kid's Day

We celebrate the end of the school year by having a day just for kids! We spend all day celebrating with a petting zoo, moonwalks, face painting, and games galore. Everything a kid could want, even snowcones and popcorn. The best part is getting to dunk Mr. McWhorter in the dunking booth!
