GPISD Host Prose and Poetry

Houston, Texas: On Tuesday, March 7, Galena Park ISD hosted its annual Elementary Prose and Poetry competition. A total of 30 students in grades K-2 and 3-5 competed in the district level contest after being named campus winners. Many of the talented students recited famous poems and speeches, and the judges had the difficult task of picking the winners. Congratulations to the following students.

Kindergarten-2nd grade:
1st place: Asonn Guzman- Pyburn Elementary, 2nd place: Luis Guzman- MacArthur Elementary, and 3rd place: Sophia Vargas- Woodland Acres Elementary

3rd-5th grade:
1st place: Madison Washington- Havard Elementary, 2nd place: Andrew O’Berry- Cimarron Elementary, and 3rd place: Juliza Sifuentes- Sam Houston Elementary.

We would also like to congratulate each of our campus winners! They were all amazing and made GPISD proud!
