Galena Park ISD Host Annual Veterans Day Luncheon
Houston, Texas: As part of a week dedicated to honoring those who have served or are serving our nation, Galena Park ISD hosted its annual Veterans Day Luncheon on November 10. More than 150 veterans and their family members attended and were honored by the North Shore Senior High School’s choir performance which included the theme song from each military branch and finished with the Star Spangled Banner. There were also letters written to the veterans on the tables by elementary students with a special reading by Denneshae Jones from Jacinto City Elementary School of her letter.
Denneshae wrote, “Thank you so very much for your dedication and sacrifice to our country. Because of you, countless lives have been saved. You gave America strength and integrity to live in a country of freedom, love and the knowing that we together, can accomplish anything.”
Representative Gene Green and Galena Park ISD Board of Trustee and Justice of the Peace, Joe Stephens, both stopped by to express their appreciation to our veterans.
GPISD would like to thank all of the veterans and family members who attended the Veterans Day Luncheon.
