Green Valley Elementary Walks to Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer
Houston, Texas: On Friday, October 14, the Green Valley Elementary Gators took to the streets armed with posters, balloons and lots of pink for their First Annual Breast Cancer Walk.
The Green Valley staff organized this event to raise awareness for breast cancer and to show their support for two GVE teachers. Mrs. Carla Chavez, a third grade teacher, is a survivor of breast cancer and Mrs. Tamara Bonilla, a fourth grade teacher, is currently fighting breast cancer.
Everyone from pre-kindergarten to administrators walked the nearby neighborhood and were chanting “Team Chavez” and “Team Bonilla” to show their love and support.
Green Valley and GPISD are proud of these two woman and the many others who are currently fighting their battle against breast cancer.
