Galena Park High School's Elementary Student of the Week

Houston, Texas: Delila Flores and Christian Molina, Woodland Acres Elementary students, were named Galena Park High School’s Elementary Students of the Week!

Flores and Molina were able to experience their first high school football game in style on Friday, September 15! When they arrived at the GPISD stadium, the honorees were greeted by the GPHS coaching staff and escorted onto the field. They were recognized by the announcer and even had an appearance on the scoreboard. During the first half, the students cheered on the Yellowjackets and chatted with Galena Park High School principal, Mr. Gardea. After halftime, the students led the Yellowjackets football team out onto the field!

The students had a blast at the GPISD stadium and enjoyed the experience very much! They were even more excited to be the first two students selected as the Students of the Week for the 2017 GPHS football season!

Molina said, “It was an amazing experience. I was so excited to be there!”

Flores said, “It was awesome! I was so surprised and happy to be selected!”

The GPHS Student of the Week recognizes elementary students who exemplify excellent behavior and are role models for their school. We can’t wait to see who is selected to attend the next Galena Park High School football game!
