GPISD Family and Friends,
Teacher / Employee Appreciation Week provides an all too small period of time to adequately spotlight the important role everyone plays in our district. A “thank you” should not be limited to a designated week of appreciation. The significance of educators is never ending and the “thank you” should be as well. On behalf of the countless students, parents, and especially one extremely appreciative fellow educator, please accept my never-ending thanks.
American author and historian Henry Brooks Adams said it best, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” Please know that every single person in Galena Park ISD makes an investment in the future. Know that your work in the District is more than the sum of contract days; it is how students are cared for, encouraged, and supported to be distinguished members of our community.
Whether teaching in a classroom, serving meals in the cafeteria, or greeting visitors in the front office where an important first impression is made, each person in this District affects eternity and touches a future they cannot see. Everyone here possesses talents and gifts which are used for the betterment of our only product and purpose: our students. What you all do is not work but a mission. And the impact of this mission on human capital is immeasurable.
There is no gift of appreciation to adequately match your devotion and commitment to this District. The true worth of your work in GPISD, as Adams said, is revealed only in eternity. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU ALL for the work you do in the Galena Park Independent School District. You are valued beyond words!
Angi Williams, Ed.D.
