Dr. Angi Williams is proud to begin her 32nd year in Galena Park ISD. During her 37 years in education, she has served as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, principal, Assistant Superintendent for School/Community Relations, and Deputy Superintendent for Educational Support. Dr. Williams was named Superintendent of Schools by the Board of Trustees in December, 2011, and she continues to lead the District with unwavering commitment to the success of all students. She is dedicated to pursuing "Excellence in All, for All, by All."
Dr. Williams is a graduate of Prairie View A & M University and Texas Southern University. She holds degrees in mathematics, guidance and counseling, and educational administration. Dr. Williams has utilized her artful teaching skills at the university level as an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University.
In addition, Dr. Williams has been recognized for her lifelong dedication to education and service to students. She has been awarded the Outstanding Educational Achievement Award from the Galena Park Education Association, the National Life Achievement Award from the Galena Park Area Council PTA and the Most Outstanding Trailblazer in Education Award from the Ivy League Educational & Charities Foundation, to name a few. She was also honored by her alma mater with an induction into the Texas Southern University College of Education Hall of Fame. Most recently, Dr. Williams was named the Region IV Superintendent of the Year by the Region IV Education Service Center, which serves 55 school districts throughout the State of Texas.
