Al Bates, former warehouse employee in Galena Park ISD, will soon begin his new career as a fifth-grade teacher at Sam Houston Elementary, the district’s newest campus. Bates has been employed with the district for 10 years and continued his education while working as a substitute teacher and also in the custodial department and most recently the warehouse.
