Renovations at Galena Park High School for the
2004-2005 school year
Galena Park High School received major renovation and repairs in preparation for the 2004-2005 school year. The following is a list of a few highlights:
- Replace the old Arthur C. Lilly Education Center to provide a new building that will be connected to main portion of the high school via a catwalk. This additional building will house JROTC, drill team/dance room, art lab, journalism classroom, computer labs, and other general classrooms.
- Build new fine arts wing that will include a band hall, choral department and drama department space.
- Add dining space with two new exterior courtyard areas with related food service equipment.
- Build a new 26,000 square foot state-of-the-art field house, add new bleachers to seat 1800 spectators and build a new press box for media. Also, resurface running track and renovate north concessions into a visitors meeting room.
NOTE: This is not a complete list of the renovations taking place at Galena Park High School.
