| SILVER KEY WINNER. Eighth grade North
Shore Middle School student Yen Ly received the silver key award
for scholastic writing. The Harris County Department of Education
recognized a total of 82 silver key winners in scholastic writing
from districts throughout Harris County.

| GOLD KEY WINNERS IN SCHOLASTIC
WRITING. From left, North Shore High freshmen Amy Bretzke and Clayvion Robinson,
and North Shore Senior High senior Elizabeth Harris received gold
key awards in scholastic writing. Nearly 450 writing entries were
reviewed by the Harris County Department of Education. All of the
gold key winners will advance to the national competition in New
York.

| ART KEY WINNERS. Galena Park High School
students Bernice Hernandez, sophomore, and Luis Torres, junior, were
recognized as key winners in art by the Harris County Department
of Education. Torres received a gold key for his self-portrait which
was created with acrylic paint. Drawn with color pencils, Hernandez
took a silver key for her silhouette of a woman.
