REGIONAL RECOGNITION. Dr. Shirley Neeley has been appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Southern Regional Education Board. The SREB works to improve every aspect of education from early childhood to doctoral degrees and beyond. Sixteen member states makeup the southern region which is governor by a board that consists of the governor from each state and four additional appointees including one legislator and one educator. Neeley took her oath of office during a school board meeting. Judge Mike Parrot administered the oath while Wayne Oquin, board president, assisted.
