GPISD mourns former educator

......The Galena Park Independent School District is mourning the loss of Robert W. Zotz, a former educator who worked in the GPISD for 32 years. Zotz was hired in 1956 as a teacher and worked as a coach, assistant principal and assistant superintendent for administration. During his tenure, Zotz worked closely with students and patrons of the district as well as teachers and administrators. He also worked under two former superintendents, W.C. Cunningham and Dr. Gerald Cobb.

......Dr. Shirley Neeley, superintendent of schools, respected Zotz and said he was devoted to education.

......“ I grew up under the tutelage of Bob Zotz and learned a great deal from his expertise. I have fond memories of him. He was a friend, mentor and great educator. He will be sorely missed.”
