GOVERNOR VISITS GPISD. Dr. Shirley Neeley, superintendent of schools, and Steve Kinney, principal, Tice Elementary, hosted Governor Rick Perry during a press conference held in GPISD. Perry declared the 78th Texas Legislative session a success and discussed the passage of a balanced budget which includes an additional $1.2 billion in public education funding, a new science initiative and $324 million for the TEXAS Grant Program.
