CONGRESSMAN GENE GREEN READS TO CLOVERLEAF ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Congressman Gene Green enjoys a moment of taking questions from second grade students at Cloverleaf Elementary on Oct. 31. He read the book “House Mouse, Senate Mouse” to first grade students and presented the book, signed by Green and authors Peter W. Barnes and Cheryl Shaw Barnes, to Jenny Freeman, librarian, and Mandy Parra, library aide at Cloverleaf.
Green presented a U.S. Flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol Building on Memorial Day – May 29, 2006 to Ofelia Garza, principal at Cloverleaf, before reading to the students. He also talked to the students about the importance of reading and told them that he is an avid reader and reads for pleasure whenever he has the chance.
