MAGNIFICENT MILKEN WINNER. Melvin and Billy Briggs joined Elizabeth Lalor, principal, Cobb 6 th Grade Campus, for a surprise announcement. Billie Briggs, a top-rated math teacher at Cobb 6th Grade Campus, was shocked to find out she was selected to receive the Milken Family Foundation's National Educator Award. Briggs is one of four Texas educators to receive this national recognition. She was selected because she is passionate about her work, she's an outstanding leader, and she executes exceptional teaching strategies that are fun and educational. The award also carries with it a $25,000 cash prize, which Briggs can spend on anything she wishes.
