Cimarron student wins 2008 district spelling bee
Ryan Zepeda, a fifth grader at Cimarron Elementary, correctly spelled the word “sarcasm” to win the Galena Park ISD Spelling Bee on Friday, Feb. 1. The 20 finalists, one representing each elementary and middle school campus, battled for hours before Zepeda captured the title. Zepeda is congratulated here by Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools.
