North Shore Middle School Band and Choir bring home

six sweepstakes awards

       North Shore Middle School band and choir members brought home a combined SIX Sweepstakes trophies in the recent UIL band and choir contests. Bands and choirs must earn a 1 (Superior - the highest rating) in concert and sight-reading to receive the Sweepstakes Trophy.
            The Mustang Choir, directed by Erin Huston and Rebecca O’Donovan, reached new heights this year as every NSMS choir entered in the competition excelled to the highest possible level.  The Varsity Men's Chorale, the Varsity Women Bel Canto, the Varsity Mixed Choirs and Cantabile Choir all earned 1s in concert and sight-reading to earn Sweepstakes.
             The Mustang Band, directed by Brandi Killough and Heath Hampton, also performed extremely well in the UIL competition. The Varsity Concert Band and Non-Varsity Concert Band earned 1s in concert and sight-reading to earn Sweepstakes while the Sub Non-Varsity Concert Band earned a 1 in concert and a 2 (Excellent) in sight-reading.
